New single “Sour Candy” out on all platforms

Today Bloomington Delta Music Club released their first single, a cover of “Sour Candy,” on all major platforms. A link is available here.

The song, released by Melt in 2017, was first covered by BDMC in fall of 2020 at WIUX’s Pledge Drive. They played and recorded it again for the Indiana University Dance Marathon benefiting the Riley Hospital for Children. On March 11, it was officially released.

The original recording is full of soul, but BDMC takes it to another level with the help of a horn section and vocalist Julia Rusyniak.

“It’s been such a cool experience to record and play music with my sister this year,” said John, Julia’s older brother. “It’s the first time we’ve really been able to musically connect.”

The pair have been playing music together for years, but their musical relationship has hit new levels this year.

“The two of us can just read each others minds when performing at times and it’s an incredibly cool experience” said Julia on her brother. “I love how we support each other in our shared passion.”

A link to the full IUDM set, is available on BDMC’s Instagram. Here’s how the credits on the new record break down.
